Expanding to International Markets
While our current success is impressive, we believe the market has even more potential. It’s time to tap into the international audience. In this newsletter, I’ll share five inspiring newsletter case studies to help you expand your reach.
Newsletter Case Studies
- Milk RoadMany of you may be familiar with Milk Road (https://milkroad.com/). Shaan Puri and his partner launched this newsletter and sold it for eight figures in just two years. They deliver daily updates on the crypto world. Although it may have lost some excitement over time, it’s a fantastic example of building a fun brand in the serious finance space.
- Superpower DailyThis newsletter focuses on AI developments. Subscribers receive daily emails about the latest happenings in the AI world. Superpower Daily generates approximately $100,000 annually.
- BengingiBengingi (https://www.bengingi.com/) is a food newsletter offering recipes, food options, and cuisines. Run by a husband-and-wife duo, this newsletter also earns six figures.
- The Rundown AIAnother AI-focused newsletter, The Rundown AI gained popularity with the rise of AI technology. It provides daily updates on the hottest AI stories. The same concept, amazing results.
- Newsletter.DigitalI launched Newsletter. Digital (https://newsletter.digital) to share daily updates on digital assets available for sale. In just a week, we’ve reached 600 subscribers.
Getting Started with Your Newsletter
All of these newsletters started on Beehiv, a platform you can join for free. However, the platform isn’t as important as ensuring your emails land in the primary inbox, not the spam or promotions tab.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Choose a Topic: Pick a subject you’re passionate about with a constant flow of information. For example:
- Good Topic: A newsletter about podcasts, as there are always new episodes.
- Bad Topic: A newsletter about the TV show F.R.I.E.N.D.S., as it’s an old show with no recent news.
- Create Your Newsletter: Use a platform like Beehiv. It should take no more than 24 hours to set up.
- Promote Your Newsletter: My favorite method is Facebook ads, but Twitter ads can work well too.
Monetizing Your Newsletter
Once you have over 20,000 subscribers, you can start earning through sponsored posts, ads, and shoutouts. Additionally, you can launch your own product or service within the ecosystem and promote it.
Final Thoughts
Gardening is one of the oldest hobbies in the world and shows no signs of fading. For maximum impact, target international markets, especially those in colder climates, where indoor gardening is particularly popular.
